Working directly with the client and project architect, Schwartz and Associates was retained to develop a waterfront project with a strong “beach” feeling. The clients were very involved in the material selection, all the way to the gathering of the pebbles used in the spa facing the San Francisco Bay. A number of talented carpenters and stone masons were involved in the implementation of the project. The planting palette is made up of carefully selected grasses and palms that can withstand the salty air and windy location of the waterfront.  This garden was published in the book “Gardens by the Sea” by Barbara Segal in the UK.
